Hello, my fellow black sheep!
Allow me to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Leslie, and I am a 29-year-old currently based in Cork, Ireland. I relocated to this cold, windy, yet astonishingly beautiful island almost one year ago to pursue a Masters degree in urban geography and sociology.
Since my move from humid Houston to Cork, I have found myself distanced from my family, friends, and a life I had grown accustomed to (i.e. long commutes to work, traffic, trashy television, GMO’s, and plentiful days of sunshine). While I do miss the positive aspects of my “past life”, I have begun to appreciate a simplified, Irish approach to living.
Not owning a vehicle and having to travel via foot from A to B has allowed me to cherish “being in the moment”. This gift has strengthened my life-long affinity for all things metaphysical. I see symbolism and messages in the every day and hope to reach like-minded spiritual-seekers with this blog.
I have always considered myself to be a bit “eccentric”, “weird”, or “outside the norm” even from a very young age. While most girls my age would be practising cheer routines, I was sitting alone in my room, writing fictional stories while wearing a bindi on my head (It was actually a shimmery plastic bead from my DIY bracelet kit..). I had always dreamed of becoming a writer. Through this blog, I will be able to unite my love for prose with my interests in not-so-mainstream ideas.
I look forward to your input and comments. I’m delighted to see the community which we create.
xx, Leslie
